I stumbled across this blog via Craft Gawker, and instantly fell in love. Best of all was the post about traditional Gypsy caravans made by Greg Mort in Bristol.
Simon and I both went to school in Bristol and seeing these caravans reminded me of our friend Ollie who has a caravan in his garden where his younger brother and sister used to play during the summer.
But I digress. Greg’s caravans are “built of quality seasoned pine surrounded by insulated and waterproofed tarpaulin which is tightly tensioned around a poplar tunnel. The bowtop wagon provides a spacious, fully mobile, easily towable, very stable and head turning alternative to a conventional caravan.”
I really, really want one, but unfortunately I don’t have £9500 lying around. On the plus side, they can be hired for a weekend for £750.
See more images of Greg’s caravans here.
